Step 1: The Materials

We begin the process by purchasing the highest-quality material from trusted, proven vendors. For example, the vinyl and patented frame structure used in LbL’s custom vinyl windows and doors is AAMA certified, and has proven to resist warping from direct sunlight and yellowing over time. Double strength glass and 300 grade non-corrosive stainless steel hardware are always standard in LbL windows. We use specially coated Low-E glass that reflects harmful UV light and helps protect interior furnishings from damaging rays, as well.

Step 2: Putting It Together

Using highly advanced, computer-controlled equipment, we precision cut the glass and vinyl materials to exacting measurements for precise fitting. When the parts are prepared, expert LbL craftsmen possessing years of hands-on experience continue the process by fusion welding each corner for a strong, watertight finish.

Precision-cut glass creates a precise fit that restricts the free movement of air, which can decrease energy efficiency. Select windows have multi-paned glass filled with argon (an odorless, colorless, non-toxic) gas that insulates better than regular air. These multi-paned layers are separated by Warm Edge foam spacers that reduce heat flow while simultaneously preventing condensation, a leading cause of mold.
